On October 21, 2025, a briefing on the results of a cultural heritage rescue operation will take place at the Mykhailo Boychuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design.
Following the destruction caused by a missile strike in March 2024, experts from the Culture Resilience Agency (ACURE), UNESCO, and the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine (NRRCU) carried out a large-scale operation to unblock, stabilize, and preserve artworks housed in the damaged academy facilities.
During the briefing, journalists will have the opportunity to visit the site of the rescue works, view the salvaged artifacts, and learn more about the rescue process directly from those involved.
🎙 Speakers:
Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi — Head of the UNESCO Office in Ukraine
Ihor Poshyvailo — ACURE Coordinator, Director General of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity
Svitlana Strelnikova — Director of the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine
Olena Osadcha — Rector of the Boychuk Academy
As part of the operation, a workshop titled “Rescuing Cultural Heritage During War: Stabilization of Damaged Collections” was held, along with two intensive training sessions for museum professionals and heritage conservation specialists, aimed at strengthening practical emergency response skills.
The briefing will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition featuring the rescued artifacts.
